Amazingly, these are two separate stories out of Miami-Dade that happened within the same week. And these are just the guys getting caught. So, imagine how many are not getting caught.
This week a 29-year-old Amazon delivery driver was accused of stealing more than $17,000 worth of packages and selling the items on Facebook Marketplace, authorities said.
A gentleman and scholar by the name of Luis Sanz-Lolo, 29, of Hialeah, was arrested on Wednesday at the Amazon warehouse, located at 3200 NW 123rd Street, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

Sanz-Lolo got busted when a “loss prevention specialist” (clearly they didn’t prevent the loss) told deputies that the company’s regional investigation department had identified Sanz-Lolo as a suspect after multiple customers complained their packages were never delivered.
After a further investigation, they found several of the undelivered items advertised for sale on Sanz-Lolo’s Facebook page. This shows how smart this guy really is. Why not create a “sock puppet” profile? Lazy people get caught.
According to the arrest report, Sanz-Lolo confessed to taking packages during his delivery route and selling them to friends and associates on Facebook Marketplace. The report showed the total value of the stolen property was over $17,000+.
Jail records show he is facing one count each of third-degree grand theft and dealing in stolen property. I wonder if he is going to get his job back? Maybe he can go work for DHL?
Then you have this other fella. Yes, he stole your packages, too. Yes, he sold them for cash, too. Yes, you probably feel bad for both of these guys (which is sad). Yes, you are gonna tell me that they need to steal so that they can buy food for their families. Sounds crazy, right? You think I’m making this up, right? Well, hell no, I’m not!
So, back to Andy Manuel Garcia Machado, 29, of southwest Miami-Dade.
He was taken into custody on a grand theft charge at the Amazon warehouse at 13320 SW 132nd Ave., near Miami Executive Airport.
According to an MDSO arrest report, another “loss prevention” employee called authorities to report that since the upstanding citizen Garcia Machado’s hire in November, “she has noticed multiple high-value items being reported as missing” by Garcia Machado, totaling almost $2,000.
“These items include a PlayStation console, solar panel, Bluetooth speaker, watch, air purifier and a Snickers bar,” a deputy wrote. You can’t make this shit up. A farking Snickers bar!!!!!
Deputies said the loss prevention employee “confronted Garcia-Machado about the items which he reported as missing, at which point, he confessed to her that he had reported them as missing and taken the items for himself instead of delivering them to customers of Amazon.”
According to the report, Garcia Machado admitted to the deputy “that he had purposefully marked the items as delivered, subsequently taking them home and selling them privately to make money.”
As of Tuesday morning, Garcia Machado was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond. Additionally, the Cuban national has been placed on an immigration hold. Surprise!!!!
In a statement, an Amazon spokesperson said, in part, “Theft is unacceptable, and we have a zero-tolerance policy. This individual no longer delivers packages for Amazon, and we’re supporting law enforcement with their investigation.” The spokesperson said Garcia Machado was not employed directly by Amazon, but instead a “delivery service partner.”
What that basically means is that Amazon cut corners by not wanting to pay their wages. They hired from an outside source that more than likely doesn’t vet anyone. And as a result, this is what you get.
