14-Year-Old to be Sentenced for Violent Assault on Elderly Woman
Ocala, FL – A 14-year-old Marion County boy faces sentencing next month after pleading guilty to the brutal assault of a 91-year-old woman in her own home.
The incident unfolded on June 9th when Jesse Stone entered the victim’s residence in Reddick through an unlocked door. Once inside, he launched a vicious attack, inflicting severe physical injuries upon the elderly woman.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) immediately launched a comprehensive investigation. Utilizing a combination of video surveillance footage and forensic DNA analysis, detectives were able to swiftly identify Stone as the primary suspect.
“This was an appalling act of violence against an innocent and vulnerable member of our community,” stated Sheriff Billy Woods in a press release. “Our deputies worked tirelessly to bring this dangerous individual to justice.”
Following his arrest, Stone was taken into custody and held in juvenile detention. During the course of the investigation, he reportedly confessed to entering the victim’s home and carrying out the assault.
Given the severity of the crime, Stone was charged as an adult. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 19th, where he will face the consequences of his actions.
