Patrick Zarrelli and his staff at SFL Media had an amazing ride on the water in the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade of 2021.  The theme of the mega yacht this year was the Grinch.  We all know, and most of us love, the green guy from the Dr. Seuss books as well as movies and cartoons.  Even though he is famous for not liking Christmas and stealing gifts from under the tree, that did not affect the vibe aboard the mega yacht, Miss Direction.

The SFL Media staff was surrounded by friends, family, loved ones, and co-workers aboard the 108-foot mega yacht, Miss Direction.  Patrick Zarrelli is no stranger to the Winterfest Boat Parade.  He has entered this parade for more than five years and won awards every time.  He has won awards for Best New Comer, Best in Sound, and even won the entire parade overall one year!

Patrick Zarrelli and his SFL Media family had a great time onboard as part of the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade of 2021.  They had a live band and a DJ performing.  Paulina Madness was the guest of honor, but don’t tell the Grinch.  He thinks he was the star of the whole parade!  Paulina was an outstanding sight to see.  You can see the Grinch watching down on her as she performs.

The mega yacht, Miss Direction, was home to Patrick Zarrelli and his SFL Media staff as well as family, friends, and loved ones of everyone on board.  As you may or may not know, all of the vessels in the parade are automatically entered to be judged for awards no matter what size they are or where they come from.  Award categories that boaters can win in are for best in theme, best overall, best in entertainment, best in lights, rookie of the year, and best in sound.  This year even offered a special category for a few boaters.  That award was for Passionate for Parades.  That award went to those boaters that were in more than one parade.  It was given out to a total of seven vessels this year.  The other parade was held in Pompano Beach.

Other awards that were given out this year were the Rookie Award, Passionate for Parades (you are eligible for this if you are in more than one Parade, which is based on boaters that were entered into the Pompano Parade in Pompano Beach), Bob Leider – Best in Television Award, Kaye Pearson Award – Spirit of Innovation, Beacon Lights Awards – Use of Moving Lights, Admiral Award – Spirit and Enthusiasm, Joe Millsaps Award – Military Spirit Award, and the People’s Choice Award.

The categories were Pre-Show, Government vessels, Barges, Showboats, Sailboats, Sailboats 20-34, and Sailboats 60+. Then there were categories for non-profit vessels, non-profit 20-34, non-profit 35-59, non-profit 60+.  Commercial vessels had categories for themselves.  They were commercial 20-34, commercial 35-59, and commercial 60+. Charter boats had their own category and they included charter 20-59 and charter 60+. And lastly, private vessels had their own categories to be judged in.  They were private under 20, private 20-34, private 35-59, and private 80+.

The mega yacht, Miss Direction, that held Patrick Zarrelli and his SFL Media staff was in the category of private vessels 80+.  They had the Grinch on their side and Paulina Madness perform.  They are in the running for an award for Best in Sound this year, which speaks volumes for the music they had for the night.  The DJ did their thing and made sure everyone had a great time onboard.  Paulina Madness made sure her performance rocked the boat as it went down the river also.  No one could miss her since the Grinch was eleven feet tall and was watching over her.  Everyone came together and enjoyed the ringing in of the Christmas holiday.

The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade 2021 was held on Saturday, December 11, 2021.  It started at 6:30 p.m. and ended at 8:30 p.m.  There was a pre-show that started at 6:00 p.m. for the judging of non-water vessels that were still a part of the boat parade.  The parade began at the Stranahan House and went east along the New River in Fort Lauderdale.  It kept on going to the Intracoastal Waterway and then went north to Lake Santa Barbara, which is located in Pompano Beach. It was 12 beautiful miles, from beginning to end, of glamorous vessels of all types, shapes, and sizes.   No matter what size the vessel was, you could just feel the Christmas spirit coming from everyone on board as well as the vessel itself.  The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade definitely lived up to its nickname, “The Best Show on H2O.”  The weather was beautiful for the parade.  There were lights for miles to see as people from all walks of life waiting on the side of the river for the vessels to pass by.  Music was loud enough to get any bah humbugger into the Christmas spirit.

There were kayaks, sailboats, barges, and mega yachts for all to see.  The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade holds the title for the “Best Show on H20.” The parade took approximately 2 and 1/2 hours to view from one location.  No matter which location you chose to hang out at, all of the vessels were able to be seen.  No one left the parade disappointed.  There were so many different size vessels to see and all were decked to the halls with Christmas spirit.  You definitely knew it was the beginning of the holiday season after leaving the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade of 2021.  Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!  May all your Christmas dreams and wishes come true.  Enjoy this time with family, friends, and loved ones.  Cherish the moments that you get with them.  Hopefully, 2022 will be a better year for all of us to enjoy.  Keep your head up, eyes straight, and focus on the positives that are in your future.
