Man Killed, Another Injured in Early Morning Shooting Outside Tropicana Bar & Lounge
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A shooting outside the Tropicana Bar & Lounge in northwestern Miami-Dade County early Sunday morning left one man dead and another injured, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred at the boundary of the Gladeview and West Little River neighborhoods. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene and found the lifeless body of a man, covered by a yellow tarp, near Northwest 79th Street and 10th Court.
Miami-Dade Police Department spokesman Detective Angel Rodriguez stated that officers were initially alerted to the shooting by a ShotSpotter notification, a system designed to detect gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered the deceased man at the location.
Shortly after the discovery, another man, suffering from gunshot wounds, was dropped off at Hialeah Hospital. Rodriguez confirmed that the wounded individual was in stable condition when he was later transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel.
As police investigated, Northwest 79th Street was blocked in both directions, creating a significant disruption in the area.
A witness at the scene, who claimed to be related to the deceased victim, suggested that the shooting stemmed from a fight at the Tropicana Bar & Lounge. However, Detective Rodriguez has yet to confirm the victim’s identity or any possible motive behind the shooting.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident or other related cases to contact Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
