Suspects Arrested After Chase Linked to Broward County Shooting

MIAMI – A man and a woman are in custody after a police perimeter was established in Northwest Miami-Dade following a high-speed chase Thursday morning involving suspects connected to a Broward County shooting.

Around 11 a.m., deputies from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BSO) responded to a report of shots fired near 4100 SW 19th St. in West Park. Upon arrival, deputies spotted a black Nissan Altima fleeing the area, but no victims were located at the scene.

The suspects led authorities on a pursuit southbound on Interstate 95 into Miami-Dade County. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including BSO, were involved in the chase.

According to investigators, the suspects’ vehicle came to a stop near I-95 and 151st Street, where both the man and the woman exited the car and fled on foot. In response, law enforcement quickly set up a perimeter, which impacted northbound traffic on I-95 just south of the Golden Glades Interchange.

BSO officials reported that officers successfully detained the woman shortly after the perimeter was established. The man was located and arrested shortly thereafter.

Chopper 4 captured aerial footage of the scene near US-441 and 151st Street, where authorities were seen taking one of the suspects into custody.

As a result of the investigation, northbound lanes of I-95 at 151st Street were temporarily closed but have since reopened. Additionally, nearby Thomas Jefferson/Biscayne Gardens K-8 Academy was placed under lockdown during the law enforcement operation, but the lockdown has since been lifted.

Authorities have yet to release the identities of the suspects involved in the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
