Miami Police Searching for Man Caught Peeping Into Apartment Windows
MIAMI – Authorities are actively searching for a man caught on surveillance video peering into the windows of a Miami apartment complex, raising safety concerns among residents.
The suspect has been seen prowling around a four-unit building near Northwest 74th Street and First Court on multiple occasions in recent weeks, according to police.
The latest incident occurred Sunday, when the man ignored several “No Trespassing” signs, bypassed security cameras, and unlatched a backyard fence before approaching the rear window of Sofia Galiano’s apartment.
“They don’t belong on the property, they definitely don’t belong in my backyard, and they shouldn’t be looking into my window,” Galiano said. “It’s an invasion of privacy.”
Detectives from the Miami Police Department’s Special Victims Unit returned to the scene Monday night to collect evidence and gather leads.
Residents of the area are growing increasingly alarmed. Galiano noted that the man has reportedly targeted at least two women, fueling concerns that others in the neighborhood may have been victims as well.
“People are scared,” she said. “Who knows whose bedroom he’s looking into?”
Miami police urge anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
