Ramírez’s Three-Run Blast Powers Marlins Past Braves 10–4 to Snap Skid

The Miami Marlins broke out in a big way Monday night, piling up a season-high offensive performance to defeat the Atlanta Braves 10–4 and snap a three-game losing streak.

After being swept in Detroit over the weekend and managing just three total runs in that series, Miami’s bats came alive with 16 hits—matching their season high in runs and setting the tone early in the opener of the series against Atlanta.

The turning point came in the fifth inning when Agustín Ramírez delivered the decisive blow. With the score tied 3–3, Ramírez crushed a 418-foot three-run homer off reliever Aaron Bummer to give Miami the lead for good. Ramírez finished the night 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored in a standout performance that sparked the Marlins’ offensive surge.

Liam Hicks also played a key role in the victory, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Connor Norby contributed a homer as part of a 2-for-5 night with two RBIs. Xavier Edwards added to the attack by going 2-for-4 and scoring three runs as Miami kept pressure on Atlanta’s pitching throughout the game.

Atlanta starter Grant Holmes looked sharp early, retiring the first nine Marlins hitters he faced. But the momentum shifted in the fourth inning when Miami broke through for three runs during a 30-pitch frame that ended Holmes’ night prematurely.

On the mound, the Marlins received a steady effort from their bullpen after starter Eury Pérez allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits over four innings. Andrew Nardi earned the win with a scoreless fifth inning, and Miami’s relief corps—Nardi, Calvin Faucher, John King, Lake Bachar and Anthony Bender—combined for five shutout innings while surrendering just two hits to secure the victory.

Atlanta had its moments offensively early in the contest. Michael Harris II went 2-for-3 with a walk in his return from paternity leave, and Austin Riley drove in two runs. Meanwhile, first baseman Matt Olson reached a significant milestone by appearing in his 799th consecutive game, passing Nellie Fox for the 11th-longest games-played streak in Major League Baseball history.

With the win, the Marlins halted their recent slide and regained offensive momentum heading into the second game of the series.

Miami is scheduled to send right-hander Max Meyer (1–0, 3.68 ERA) to the mound Tuesday against Atlanta right-hander Reynaldo López (1–0, 1.15 ERA) as the series continues.
