MIAMI GARDENS, FL — A domestic dispute between two brothers took a tragic turn Tuesday morning when a verbal altercation escalated into a fatal shooting, police said.

Officers with the Miami Gardens Police Department responded to reports of a domestic disturbance in the 1400 block of NW 168th Terrace at approximately 10:52 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The victim’s brother, who authorities believe was the shooter, was immediately detained at the scene and transported to the police station for questioning.

Police have not released the names of those involved, and the circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation.
