Florida State Blows Out Southern Mississippi

Also running back Caziah Holmes had 4 carries for 63 yrds and one touchdown. Wide receiver Keon Coleman a transfer from Michigan State was also instrumental in the Seminoles’ offensive explosion. Coleman hauled in one touchdown pass with 3 receptions and 48 yrds displaying his agility and route-running skills, while receivers Markeston Douglas, Darion Williamson and Vandrevius Jacobs also each had one touchdown reception making them a constant threat in the passing game. Seminoles offense racked up 554 total yards of offense in their dominat win over Southern Mississippi.

The Dominant Defense

While the Seminoles’ offense was putting on a show, their defense was equally impressive. The defensive line, anchored by All-American defensive end Jared Verse put relentless pressure on the Golden Eagles’ quarterback, sacking him two times and forcing one turnover.  The secondary was equally dominant, with cornerback Jarrian Jones intercepting a pass and returning it for 30 yards for a pick six and linebackers Kalen Deloach and Blake Nichelson delivering bone-crushing hits. The Seminoles’ defense held the Golden Eagles to just 258 total yards of offense, one touchdown and six punts. Seminoles defense consistently disrupted their offensive rhythm, earning high praise from their coaching staff and fans alike.
