A former professional tennis player from Uruguay is facing multiple criminal charges after authorities say he damaged merchandise and threatened employees during a disturbance at a sporting goods store in Doral.

According to the Doral Police Department, Nicolas Xiviller Pardodeir was arrested following the incident at Tennis Plaza. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. Investigators say officers responded after receiving reports of a customer causing a disturbance inside the store.

Alleged Confrontation Inside The Store

Police said Xiviller Pardodeir became upset while inside the tennis retailer and intentionally damaged two tennis rackets, causing an estimated $568 in damage. Employees reportedly asked him to leave after the merchandise was destroyed.

According to the arrest report, the situation escalated when Xiviller Pardodeir allegedly picked up a tennis racket and threatened employees with it before walking out of the business. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Surveillance Video Captured The Incident

Store surveillance cameras reportedly recorded much of the confrontation. Video reviewed by investigators allegedly showed Xiviller Pardodeir forcefully slamming tennis rackets onto the floor inside the store.

After exiting the business, he was also seen striking and punching the store’s glass entrance doors, according to police. Employees described the encounter as frightening and said they were unsure what prompted the outburst.

Police Located The Suspect Nearby

Officers searched the surrounding area after the incident and later located Xiviller Pardodeir at a nearby gas station, where he was taken into custody without further incident. He was transported to jail and booked on the three charges. As of the latest reports, court records did not indicate whether he had obtained legal representation.

Former Professional Career

Xiviller Pardodeir is a former professional tennis player from Uruguay who later transitioned into coaching and competing in padel. Public profiles describe him as a former ATP player and a tennis coach based in South Florida. Authorities have not released a possible motive for the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
