Miami Tesla Flasher Back Behind Bars After New Allegations

South Florida Man Accused of Serial Indecent Exposure and Stalking Faces New Charges

A South Florida man accused of exposing himself to women while driving and aggressively stalking victims across Miami Dade County is back behind bars after investigators connected him to multiple incidents displaying what prosecutors describe as a troubling and escalating pattern of behavior.

Authorities say 50-year-old Rogerio Miranda Daza is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after a judge set his bond at $25,000 and imposed strict release conditions that would require GPS monitoring and house arrest if he is released pending trial. The latest allegations stem from an incident in South Miami that investigators say closely mirrors another case that surfaced just days later in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood.

Woman Reports Being Followed and Harassed in South Miami

According to South Miami Police, the newest charge against Daza stems from an incident that occurred on May 11 along the US-1 corridor near Southwest 57th Avenue. Investigators say a woman was driving when she noticed a Tesla traveling unusually close to her vehicle. When she looked toward the driver, she allegedly observed Daza exposing himself and engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior while operating the vehicle.

The victim told investigators she attempted to distance herself from the Tesla by accelerating and changing her driving pattern. Police say Daza allegedly continued pursuing her through traffic and even ran a red light while attempting to stay alongside her vehicle. According to investigators, the woman eventually managed to lose the suspect after taking evasive actions and driving through multiple streets in an effort to break contact. The incident was later reported to police, leading detectives to identify Daza as the suspect.

Brickell Case Helped Investigators Identify Suspect

The South Miami allegations emerged shortly after another woman reported a remarkably similar encounter in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood. According to investigators, that victim reported being followed for nearly 30 minutes after leaving a local gym. The woman allegedly became concerned when the same vehicle continued tracking her movements through multiple streets.

Unlike previous victims, investigators say the woman was able to obtain and record the Tesla’s license plate number before reporting the incident. That information ultimately led police directly to Daza. Authorities say he initially turned himself in following the Brickell investigation, but the discovery of the earlier South Miami incident resulted in his return to jail and another appearance before a bond court judge.

Judge Cites Disturbing Pattern of Behavior

During the bond hearing, prosecutors argued that the allegations demonstrate a clear pattern rather than an isolated incident. Court records indicate the judge agreed there appeared to be repeated conduct involving women who reported being targeted while driving alone. While the court approved a $25,000 bond, the judge imposed strict conditions should Daza secure his release.

Those restrictions include electronic GPS monitoring and house arrest while the criminal cases proceed through the court system. The court’s decision reflects concerns that the allegations involve not only indecent exposure but also prolonged pursuit of victims in moving vehicles, creating potential safety risks for the public.

Growing Concerns Over Roadway Harassment

The case has drawn attention because of the alleged combination of indecent exposure and aggressive stalking behavior occurring on public roadways. Law enforcement officials often warn that incidents involving drivers following victims can quickly escalate into dangerous situations, particularly when suspects attempt to maintain contact despite efforts by victims to flee.

Police encourage anyone who believes they may have encountered similar behavior to contact investigators immediately and provide any available photographs, videos, vehicle descriptions, or license plate information. As the investigation continues, authorities are working to determine whether additional victims may exist.

Daza remains in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center while the case moves forward through the Miami-Dade court system. As with all criminal cases, the allegations remain accusations, and Daza is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
