Miami Beach Doctor Charged In Fatal Wellness Treatment Death
A Miami Beach doctor has been charged with manslaughter after prosecutors say a woman died during an alternative wellness treatment that was advertised as a “heart protocol” ceremony.
According to Miami-Dade court records, Dr. Jeffrey Kamlet was arrested following an investigation into the death of a woman who participated in the wellness session at a Miami Beach property in 2025. Authorities allege the treatment involved the use of psychoactive substances and that Kamlet’s actions led to the woman’s death.
Investigation Lasted More Than A Year
The criminal charge comes after more than a year of investigation by Miami Beach police and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
Investigators say emergency responders were called after the woman became unresponsive during the ceremony. Despite lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead.
