Miami Model On Pink Cocaine Flees Car Crash Leaving Behind Two Dead

Social Media Model Faces DUI Manslaughter Charges After Fatal Miami Crash

Newly obtained surveillance footage reveals the moments leading up to a fatal crash in downtown Miami on August 10, involving social media model Maecee Marie Lathers. The crash resulted in the deaths of two people, and Lathers now faces multiple charges, including DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license.

The video, obtained by NBC6, shows Lathers’ white Mercedes speeding down N. Miami Avenue before crashing into a black Range Rover and a silver Suzuki at the intersection of N. Miami Avenue and N. 8th Street. The collision killed Abraham Molina and Jesus Rubio. After the crash, Lathers can be seen walking away from the scene and sitting on a nearby sidewalk. Moments later, she appears to join a group of runners moving in the direction of the crash.

According to police records, Lathers attempted to leave the scene without rendering aid or calling 911. Bystanders confronted her, leading to her apprehension. Further video evidence from police body cameras shows Lathers face down on the ground, topless, screaming, and vomiting. Prosecutors revealed that a toxicology report found a variety of drugs in her system at the time of the crash.

Lathers reportedly told police she was on “tucci,” a party drug often referred to as “pink cocaine,” typically made from ketamine and other substances. Arrest records indicate that Lathers was traveling at approximately 57 mph just five seconds before the crash, with the accelerator at 100%. The vehicle then accelerated to 78 mph at the time of impact.

In court, Lathers was visibly emotional as she was informed of the charges against her. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges. A judge ordered that Lathers be held in jail without bond while she awaits trial, citing the severity of the incident and her attempt to flee the scene.

The case has drawn significant public attention due to Lathers’ status as a social media influencer, raising questions about the impact of substance use and reckless behavior among individuals with large online followings.
