Heartbroken Family Demands Justice After Tragic Shooting on Florida’s Turnpike
Hollywood, FL – A devastating tragedy unfolded on Florida’s Turnpike late Friday night as a mother and her 4-year-old daughter were shot and killed, leaving a heartbroken family demanding answers and justice.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded just before midnight to reports of a shooting on the northbound Turnpike near Mile Marker 49, just south of Hollywood Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found 33-year-old Beatrice Saintvil and her young daughter, Janelle, inside a vehicle, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Janelle, who was to turn 5 years old in August, was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics rushed Beatrice to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The tragic loss has left the Saintvil family in a state of shock and grief.
“Everything Beatrice did was for her daughter,” said Saintvil’s sister, Kyanna Librun. “Gymnastics, she was in swim, she loved dancing. She acted just like her mother.”
Saintvil, the oldest of ten children, was described by her family as a loving, peace-making dancer who always brought joy and unity to those around her.
“Any problem that I have, Beatrice is the first person that I call,” said her mother, Tatiana Victorin. “She was the one who always brought us back together.”
On Saturday, surrounded by family, Victorin mourned the loss of her daughter and granddaughter, expressing her deep sorrow and the irreplaceable void left by their deaths.
“God knows the reason why He took her too, because she wouldn’t survive without her daughter,” Victorin said. “I lost my daughter, nothing can replace my daughter and my grandchild.”
The Saintvil family is now desperately seeking answers and justice. They are baffled by the senseless violence and are pleading for information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the perpetrator.
“Why, I want to know why,” Librun questioned. “She’s always there to calm the situation down, so for something like this to happen to her out of all of us is crazy.”
The family has made a heartfelt plea for justice. “We want to see their face and ask them why, why,” Librun said, echoing the family’s frustration and sorrow.
As of now, police have not provided any information on a suspect. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Homicide Detective Ryan Schnakenberg at 954-321-4247 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477). Tips that lead to an arrest in this case are eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
