Orlando City Rolls Past Toronto 3-0 as Antoine Griezmann Scores in Fifth Straight Match

Griezmann, Sarajian and Angulo Lead Orlando City to Another Victory

Orlando City continued its late-season surge Saturday night, defeating Toronto FC 3-0 behind another standout performance from Antoine Griezmann and a pair of rookie contributions. Griezmann scored for the fifth consecutive match and for the eighth time in Orlando City’s last 10 games, while rookie Harvey Sarajian recorded his first career goal and assist to help the Lions extend their unbeaten streak to six matches.

Orlando City has now won three straight games, improving to 10-11-4 on the season as the club continues its push in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Griezmann Delivers Again for Orlando City

Orlando City took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Griezmann struck in the first minute of stoppage time. The French star finished off a sequence created by 20-year-old rookie defender Zakaria Taifi and Marco Pašalić, who each picked up an assist.

The goal continued an impressive stretch for Griezmann, who has quickly become one of Orlando City’s most important offensive players. Taifi now has three assists this season, while Pašalić has two. Orlando City goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau also played a key role in protecting the lead, making two saves in each half. The shutout was his fourth in 24 starts this season.

Orlando’s Rookies Make Their Mark

Orlando City added an insurance goal in the 82nd minute when Sarajian scored his first MLS goal. The rookie forward entered the match just two minutes before finding the back of the net, continuing an impressive impact off the bench. Sarajian has appeared in seven matches this season, with every appearance coming as a substitute.

Daryl Dike provided the assist after entering the match in the 65th minute. It was Dike’s second assist in six appearances this season.

Angulo Caps the Victory

Iván Angulo put the result beyond doubt in the sixth minute of stoppage time, scoring Orlando City’s third goal of the night.

Sarajian earned his second contribution of the match with an assist, while 19-year-old rookie forward Justin Ellis also set up the goal. Ellis entered in the 70th minute and recorded his 10th assist of the season. The three-goal performance gave Orlando City another convincing victory as the Lions continued their strong run heading toward the final stretch of the regular season.

Toronto Falls Further Behind in Playoff Race

Toronto FC goalkeeper Luca Gavran made five saves, but Toronto couldn’t generate enough offense to keep pace with Orlando City.

Toronto entered the day just one spot outside the final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference and dropped to 6-8-11 following the loss. Orlando City, meanwhile, has positioned itself for an important finish to the season with its six-game unbeaten streak and three consecutive victories.

Both teams return to action Saturday. Toronto FC will travel to face St. Louis City, while Orlando City will visit the New England Revolution as the Lions look to extend their unbeaten streak to seven matches.
