Orlando City SC and Columbus Crew Battle to 1-1 Draw as Pašalić Scores Early, Rossi Levels Late

Orlando City SC earned a hard-fought point on the road Sunday night, playing to a 1-1 draw with the Columbus Crew at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field in MLS regular-season action.

The Lions started brightly and struck first in the 14th minute with a well-worked team goal. Iván Angulo unlocked the defense with a clever pass to Tiago, who drove into the box and squared it for an onrushing Marco Pašalić. The forward made no mistake, guiding a composed first-time finish into the net to give Orlando a 1-0 advantage.

Columbus, however, steadily grew into the match and eventually found an equalizer late in the second half. In the 80th minute, Taha Habroune flicked a pass inside the box to Diego Rossi, who finished clinically at the near post to level the score at 1-1 and rescue a point for the home side.

Pašalić’s opening strike marked his second goal of the 2026 season and the 17th of his career across all competitions. Tiago recorded his first assist since joining the Lions through the U22 Initiative, while Angulo continued his influential campaign with his team-leading fourth assist of the year and 35th across all competitions—now ranking third in club history for assists.

Interim head coach Martín Perelman made two changes to the starting lineup from Orlando’s previous match against LAFC, bringing captain Robin Jansson and defender Griffin Dorsey into the XI as part of a tactical adjustment on the road.

Despite conceding late, Orlando City extended its competitive road stretch and will now turn its attention quickly to a midweek U.S. Open Cup clash. The Lions travel to Naples, Florida, to face USL League One side FC Naples at Paradise Coast Sports Complex on Wednesday, April 15, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. as they continue their four-game road swing.
