Emergency Landing Attempt Ends in Tragedy
A private business jet carrying six people crashed onto a highway in Laredo, Texas, on Tuesday night, bursting into flames and prompting a dramatic rescue effort from bystanders and first responders. The aircraft, a Cessna Citation Latitude operated by NetJets, was traveling from San José del Cabo, Mexico, to Austin when the crew reportedly experienced mechanical problems. According to officials, the pilot diverted toward Laredo International Airport and attempted an emergency landing after reporting issues with the aircraft. The jet ultimately crashed near Loop 20, a major roadway close to the airport, shortly before 10 p.m.
