40 Mannequins Take Over Dallas Yard
A Halloween display at a Dallas home is already attracting plenty of attention, with roughly 40 mannequins creating an unusual scene outside an Oak Cliff house. Artist and engineer Steven Novak is behind the elaborate 2026 Halloween display, which has turned his front yard into a strange and eye catching spectacle. The mannequins are positioned throughout the property, creating a scene that has left passersby stopping to take a closer look.
“I love this to death, it’s hilarious,” Novak said of this year’s Halloween display.
Novak has become known for creating elaborate Halloween decorations that go far beyond the typical pumpkins, skeletons and inflatable decorations. His displays often feature realistic mannequins, dramatic scenes and plenty of details designed to make people do a double take. The latest display continues that tradition while taking a different approach. Instead of focusing on one large scene, Novak has surrounded the property with dozens of mannequins, creating the feeling that a large crowd has suddenly gathered outside the home.
The unusual setup has already drawn crowds of curious people who want to see the display in person. Visitors have been stopping outside the Oak Cliff home to take pictures and videos of the mannequins. For Novak, creating an elaborate Halloween display has become an annual tradition and a creative project. Each year gives him another opportunity to build something that is unexpected and entertaining.
His Halloween displays have previously featured elaborate fake crime scenes, zombies, vehicles and other large scale decorations. The displays have become popular attractions for people looking for something different during Halloween season. This year’s mannequin filled yard is no exception.
The sheer number of figures makes the display especially eye catching from the street. From a distance, the mannequins can look like an actual group of people gathered outside the home, creating an intentionally bizarre effect. As Halloween approaches, more people are expected to make their way to Oak Cliff to see the display for themselves. What started as a homeowner’s Halloween project has once again become a conversation starter for the neighborhood, proving that Novak has no interest in keeping his Halloween decorations simple.
