Despite this, the promising son of Tapit showcased his raw talent, successfully carrying his speed wire-to-wire in the prestigious nine-furlong test for older horses at Saratoga Race Course.
In a race that featured eight graded stakes-winners, Arthur’s Ride emerged victorious, earning an automatic berth into the 10-furlong Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic in November at Del Mar as part of the “Win and You’re In” Challenge Series. This victory holds special significance for Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott, as it marks his first win in the Whitney Stakes, further solidifying his already illustrious career.

Breaking sharply from post 9-of-10, Arthur’s Ride was closely followed by Skippylongstocking, piloted by Jose Ortiz. The pair set a brisk opening quarter-mile in 23.26 seconds over the muddy and sealed track. Arthur’s Ride maintained his lead throughout, showcasing his exceptional speed and stamina to secure the win.
