Lionel Messi’s Secret Miami Property Move Revealed as He Buys Four Luxury Condos

Lionel Messi Expands His Miami Real Estate Empire With Four New Luxury Condos

Lionel Messi is not just building a legacy on the soccer field in South Florida. He is also building one in Brickell’s luxury skyline. The global soccer icon continues to deepen his roots in Miami with the purchase of four ultra luxury condominiums at Cipriani Residences Miami, an 80 story tower rising in the heart of Brickell. The move comes just one year after Messi acquired an exclusive residence inside the Porsche Design Tower in Sunny Isles Beach, signaling that his future in Florida appears long term.

Messi first joined Inter Miami CF in 2023 on a contract set to run through the end of the 2025 MLS season. However, recent developments suggest that the Argentine superstar is not planning to leave anytime soon. In fact, he recently signed a contract extension that keeps him at the Florida based club through 2028, further cementing Miami as home. Now, his real estate portfolio is expanding at the same pace as his soccer legacy.

Four New Units at Cipriani Residences Miami

Messi has reportedly gone into contract on four units located on the top floors of Cipriani Residences Miami, a luxury development currently under construction at 1420 South Miami Avenue. According to reports, one of the residences alone is valued at approximately $7.5 million. The tower, developed by Mast Capital and handled exclusively by Fortune Development Sales, marks Cipriani’s first ground up residential project in the United States. Completion is scheduled for 2028.

The building will include 397 condominiums ranging from one to four bedrooms, with prices starting at $1.7 million. Messi’s reported purchases place him among an elite group of owners within what is described as The Canaletto Collection, a limited assemblage of six penthouses and 68 ultra luxury residences occupying the top 18 floors. While the exact configuration of Messi’s units has not been publicly confirmed, sources suggest that at least one spans roughly 3,500 square feet and includes four bedrooms. If accurate, the purchase would allow Messi to comfortably house his wife Antonela Roccuzzo, their three children, and extended family or friends.

A Lifestyle Designed for Privacy and Prestige

The Cipriani Residences tower will rise 80 stories above Brickell and offer panoramic 360 degree views of the Miami skyline and Biscayne Bay. For someone of Messi’s stature, privacy and exclusivity are essential. The building promises both.

Amenities include:

  • Two resort style swimming pools with sundeck
  • A residents only restaurant and private speakeasy
  • A holistic spa featuring sauna and treatment rooms
  • A golf simulator and screening room
  • A state of the art fitness center
  • Pickleball court
  • 24 hour catering services

Interiors are curated by 1508 London Design Studio, while architecture is handled by the renowned firm Arquitectonica. For a player whose annual compensation reportedly exceeds $20 million in guaranteed pay, with a total Inter Miami package estimated around $150 million including equity in the club, the investment aligns with both lifestyle and financial strategy.

Already Living Large in South Florida

Messi is no stranger to South Florida luxury living. Shortly after signing with Inter Miami, he purchased a $10.75 million waterfront mansion in Fort Lauderdale near the team’s training facility.

The 10,500 square foot property sits within the exclusive Bay Colony community and features:

  • Eight bedrooms
  • Nine bathrooms
  • Two docks
  • 170 feet of water frontage
  • Heated swimming pool
  • 1,600 square foot primary suite
  • Fitness room and spa
  • Entertainment lounge
  • Office space

The mansion’s interior design, completed by Lori Morris, blends modern luxury with bold architectural elements, including a 27 foot dome entryway. Before that, Messi secured a residence in the iconic Porsche Design Tower in Sunny Isles Beach. The tower is famous for its automated car elevator system that allows residents to park vehicles directly beside their living rooms. Glass enclosed car elevators transport vehicles to upper floors, where they are displayed behind glass walls as part of the interior aesthetic. Not every resident in the 56 floor tower has a private sky garage, but when your name is Lionel Messi, access tends to follow.

Commitment to Miami and Inter Miami

Messi’s expanding property holdings mirror his professional commitment to Inter Miami and to the city itself. In a recent statement following his contract extension through 2028, Messi expressed enthusiasm about the club’s future and the construction of Miami Freedom Park, the team’s upcoming stadium.

“It makes me really happy to stay here and to continue with this project,” Messi said. “Since I arrived in Miami, I’ve been very happy, so I’m truly glad to keep going here.” Inter Miami co owner Jorge Mas described Messi’s extension as a symbol of belief in the city. “Leo signing through 2028 is an ode to our amazing city,” Mas said. “Together we will continue building and dreaming.” David Beckham, who played a key role in recruiting Messi to Major League Soccer, also praised the superstar’s dedication.

“He’s still as committed as he’s ever been and he still wants to win,” Beckham said. “We feel very lucky.” Messi’s decision to remain in Miami through 2028 also aligns with the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Many expect the Argentine legend to compete in what could be his final World Cup appearance before retirement.

Investment Strategy or Permanent Home

It remains unclear whether Messi intends to personally occupy all four Cipriani units or if part of the purchase is purely investment driven. South Florida’s luxury condominium market has seen strong appreciation, particularly in Brickell and waterfront developments.

However, given his expanding Florida footprint, the purchases suggest more than speculative interest. Miami offers proximity to Argentina, vibrant Latin American culture, elite private schools, and a climate similar to parts of his homeland.

Since relocating from Europe after leaving Paris Saint Germain, Miami has provided Messi with both lifestyle comfort and business opportunity. His MLS move has significantly elevated Inter Miami’s global profile, boosted ticket sales, and transformed the city into a new epicenter for American soccer. Meanwhile, his property acquisitions continue at a steady pace.

A Growing Florida Empire

From Fort Lauderdale waterfront estates to Sunny Isles sky garages and now Brickell penthouses, Lionel Messi is assembling one of the most impressive celebrity real estate portfolios in South Florida. With Cipriani Residences Miami set for completion in 2028 and Miami Freedom Park opening soon after, Messi’s dual investments in both sport and property signal long term vision.

Whether he is expanding his investment portfolio, planning for post retirement life, or simply enjoying the fruits of his extraordinary career, one thing is certain. Lionel Messi is not just passing through Miami. He is building something permanent.
