Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Presents Winterfest Boat Parade 2022

The time has finally come! Christmas time has finally arrived. Those of you that live in the South Florida area know what that means! “The Best Show on H2O” is right around the corner to help everyone kick off the holiday season in South Florida! This boat parade is one of the best shows on water to ever grace the planet. It is the seventh largest spectator event in the country. It is also one of the top twenty best parades in the world! That is an honor! Each year, this parade is televised so it can reach everyone that is not fortunate enough to be there in person. The 51st annual Winterfest Boat Parade is scheduled to take place on December 10, 2022. It is being hosted by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. This year’s theme of the boat parade is “Neon Nightlife Under the Sea.” If you have never been to this parade, then you do not know what you are missing out on! People from all over the world put their vessels of all types into this parade for all of us to see and appreciate. Over a million people will witness this spectacular event and help bring in over fifty million dollars in revenue to Broward County alone. This is the event of the season and is a show that no one should miss out on.

Parade Viewing Area and Start Time

You can see all of the different types of water vessels at the Baptist Health sponsored parade viewing area located at the Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park. The address is 300 Las Olas Circle, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316. Gates to the viewing area will open at 4:00 p.m. with many activities for everyone to enjoy while waiting for the parade to start. There is a preshow that starts at 6:00 p.m. which will show non-motorized vessels. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Stranahan House traveling east along The New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale. It will continue on to the Intracoastal Waterway and then go north to Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach. The entire parade route is about twelve miles long. It will take approximately two and a half hours for the entire boat parade to make its way from the beginning to the end. If you cannot make it to the Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park, there are many other options available for you to enjoy this year’s parade. You can set up along the bridges along the parade route, at The Riverside Hotel, the Downtowner Saloon as well as many other places along the way. If all else fails and you are unable to make it to this boat parade in person, then you can watch it on WSVN on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 9:00 p.m. This parade will also be linked up on Facebook for everyone to enjoy as well.

Parking For the Parade

If you are driving yourself, your friends, and your family to this year’s Winterfest Boat Parade, then you will want to get to the area early so you can find a good place to park your vehicle. If you are going to be watching the boat parade from Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park, then you will find the parking garage right next door to it. The Las Olas Parking Garage is located at 200 Las Olas Circle, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316. This parade will go on whether the sun is shining, or it is raining alligators and crocodiles. Parking will be on a first come first serve basis so get there early. The pre-show of non-motorized vessels starts at 6:00 p.m. so you may want to get there for 3:00 p.m. The gates will open to the park at 4:00 p.m. so you will have plenty of time to walk around and enjoy all of the amenities the area has to offer. There are many shops and restaurants in the area that will be waiting for you and your family.

Types of Water Vessels You Will See

There will be non-motorized vessels as well as motorized vessels in this year’s boat parade. People can enter the parade showcasing their canoes, sailboats, row boats, inflatables and even kayaks to show everyone their Christmas spirit. The motorized vessels are much bigger and are able to accommodate more lights and louder sounds. Private boats, giant showboats, corporate mega yachts, charter boats, commercial boats, government boats, non-profit boats, river boats, water taxis, diving boats, party boats, and barges will be in the parade showing their neon Kris Kringle spirit. Everyone knows the assignment, and no one will fail. There will be themes on each vessel that the owners and guests want the world to see. Even though the theme of this year’s entire parade is “Neon Nightlife Under the Sea,” that does not mean that you will not see Santa Claus, The Grinch, Charlie Brown and his crew, Nemo and probably some alligators or crocodiles since it is Florida after all!

Entertainment Bonuses at the Viewing Area

The Shane Duncan Band

While you are patiently waiting to witness the Christmas miracles in this year’s Winterfest boat parade, you, your friends, and your family will be able to enjoy live music and entertainment in the Stella Artois Culinary Courtyard. Live performances this year will be provided by the Shane Duncan Band and Southern Blood. There will also be radio personality Drew from Y-100 and Amelia from BIG1059 broadcasting for iHeart Radio. Pets will not be allowed, unfortunately, at this event unless they are service animals for those with a disability. Inside the Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park parade viewing area, bottles, coolers, and personal chairs are not allowed inside. There will be places for everyone to sit since chairs will be provided for those that need to sit down during the boat parade. After all, the parade will take roughly two and a half hours from beginning to the end. No one wants to miss out on any part of this year’s spectacular show on the water due to being uncomfortable because there is nowhere to sit and relax for a little bit.
