Miami Police Search for Suspect After Bartender Assaulted at Bayside Marketplace Hard Rock Cafe
MIAMI, Fla. — Miami police are searching for a man accused of violently assaulting a bartender at the Hard Rock Cafe inside Bayside Marketplace after what began as a dispute over drink garnishes, leaving the victim with a chipped tooth, head injuries, and lingering headaches. Confrontation Began Over Employee Only Area
According to the victim, the incident started Sunday while she was working behind the bar at the Hard Rock Cafe inside Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami. The bartender confronted a man after allegedly seeing him take drink garnishes from an employee only area. While the initial interaction ended without violence, authorities say the situation escalated approximately 30 minutes later.
The suspect allegedly returned and, without warning, shoved the bartender from the collarbone and neck area, knocking her to the ground. The force of the push caused her to strike her head against a nearby rack inside the restaurant.
Second Assault Captured During Attempt to Identify Suspect
After the initial attack, the victim attempted to document the suspect by taking photographs as he walked away. According to the victim, the man responded by attacking her a second time. She told investigators the suspect struck her near the jaw and knocked her cellphone from her hand before leaving the scene. The second confrontation transformed what began as a workplace dispute into an alleged assault that investigators are now actively pursuing.
Victim Suffers Head Injuries and Chipped Tooth
The bartender said she continues to deal with the physical effects of the attack.
