Miami Beach Man Arrested After Allegedly Forcibly Kissing 13 Year Old Girl Inside Family Restaurant
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A 38 year old man is facing felony charges after Miami Beach police arrested him in connection with the alleged sexual battery of a 13 year old girl inside her family’s restaurant earlier this month.
According to a Miami Beach Police arrest report, Guillermo Mayorga Prado was arrested after detectives identified him as the suspect in a July 9 incident at a family owned Nicaraguan Honduran restaurant on Washington Avenue. He has been charged with lewd and lascivious conduct involving a child between the ages of 12 and 16.
Investigators allege Mayorga Prado, who was known as a regular customer at the restaurant, approached the victim while she was sitting with her brother. Detectives say the suspect told the boy there were dirty tables outside that needed attention, causing him to leave the dining area.
Once the victim was alone, investigators say Mayorga Prado forcibly kissed the 13 year old girl on the lips. The girl immediately screamed, prompting family members to intervene and force the suspect out of the restaurant before police arrived.
The victim’s family later provided surveillance video of the incident to Miami Beach Police, which detectives used as part of their investigation. Authorities spent approximately one week searching for the suspect before locating and arresting him in North Miami Beach.
Mayorga Prado was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he was booked on the felony charge. Miami Dade court records show a judge set bond at $7,500 and ordered Mayorga Prado to have no contact with the victim or her family. He was also ordered to stay away from the Washington Avenue restaurant where the incident occurred. He has since been released after posting bond.
The case remains under investigation.
