We have all heard of the “Mile High Club”. For many, it is a bucket list item they have to check off in their lifetime. And while this story isn’t about a successful achievement into that club, you can’t say that this guy didn’t try his best.
Guillaume Sebastien Roger Mattler aka “Frenchie Naughty Fingers”, an airplane passenger on Swiss International Air Lines “allegedly” sexually assaulted his seatmate while she was sleeping and was forced to move after witnesses on the plane stopped him. But Mattler later returned to the seat to pass her a creepy note.
His seatmate was an unidentified 29-year-old woman on the Swiss International Air Lines flight that went from Switzerland to Miami in late April, according to the criminal complaint.
Mattler, a 48-year-old resident of France, is facing a count of abusive sexual contact, according to the complaint filed in the Southern District of Florida.
The complaint stated that while Mattler was a passenger on Swiss Air LX64 from Zurich to Miami, he allegedly assaulted the woman seated next to him in the flight’s first-class cabin. The incident was witnessed by at least three people, including a flight attendant.
A second eyewitness then “observed Mattler moving his hand in a ‘submarine’ motion, as if trying to get his hand under the victim’s clothing and/or between her legs.”
After checking flight information to see if Mattler actually knew the victim, a flight attendant alerted to the situation by the witnesses then “approached the seat where the victim was sleeping and observed Mattler with his hand on the victim’s crotch, over her jeans, making a scooping or rubbing motion on her vagina.”
When confronted, Mattler could not prove that he knew the victim, so flight staff moved him to an economy seat. He was later escorted back to his old seat to grab items he had left behind. When he attempted to pass the victim a note that read, “You look beautiful when you are sleeping.”
After the attendant woke the victim and informed her about what had happened, she “confirmed she did not know Mattler and was shocked.” She also “began shaking and crying,” the complaint states.
In a post-flight interview with authorities after he was processed through immigration, Mattler initially denied touching the victim, but after learning of multiple eyewitnesses and video evidence of the incident, he admitted to authorities “that he touched the woman sitting next to him and that he did not think it was such a big deal.”
After an official said a witness saw him touch the victim’s “vaginal area,” Mattler had the audacity to say that “he touched whatever he could reach from across the armrest.”
He also told authorities during the interview that “his initial intention was to get the woman’s phone number and give her his.” “He then provided the note from his pocket that was written in his business card that read ‘you look cute when you sleep,’ along with the flight information and his seat number.”
Mattler is currently being held at the Federal Detention Center in Miami.
Let this be a lesson to all of you “creepy jeepies”. The woman has to know what’s going on. She has to be aware of what you are trying to do. You can’t just slide your hands down her legs. You’re not such a “Romeo” if you have to wait for her to fall asleep to make your move.
