A golden retriever named Nash has captured attention after security footage showed the unusually friendly way he reacted when a burglar entered his family’s San Diego home. Rather than barking, chasing the intruder away or acting aggressively, Nash appeared to see the unexpected visitor as someone who might want to play. Nash, a 4-year-old golden retriever weighing about 90 pounds, was inside the home when the break-in occurred. His owners, Dante Rowley and his fiancée, Stephanie Calderon, were away at the time and were alerted to activity inside their house through their security system.

Nash Brought His Toys

According to reports, the intruder entered the home through an upstairs window after using a ladder. Once inside, the man reportedly helped himself to food from the refrigerator and at one point lay down for a nap. During the bizarre encounter, Nash repeatedly approached the man while carrying his toys. Instead of treating the stranger as a threat, the dog appeared eager to interact with him and potentially start a game of fetch. The unusual footage quickly drew attention because of Nash’s seemingly carefree reaction to a situation that could have been frightening. His behavior also prompted questions about whether he was actually trying to play or simply responding to a stressful and unfamiliar situation in his own way.

Nash was not injured during the incident, and his owners later said they planned to take additional security measures around the home.
