Eminem and Kid Rock: The Rumor Is Real, and Politics Apparently Won’t Stop These Two
For years, the idea of Eminem and Kid Rock teaming up for new music sounded like the kind of rumor that would set the internet on fire. Now, it turns out there is something to it. The two Michigan born music stars are reuniting for a new song called “7 Sins,” which is scheduled to appear on Kid Rock’s upcoming Christian music album, Halfway 2 Jesus.
The collaboration first grabbed attention after Kid Rock shared the track listing for his upcoming album on October 1st, 2026. Among the 17 tracks was “7 Sins,” featuring Eminem. Given the pair’s very different political views, some fans immediately questioned whether the announcement was legitimate. However, Complex reported that a representative for Eminem confirmed the collaboration is official. So, no, this one does not appear to be another internet rumor cooked up by somebody with too much time and a social media account.
When Is “7 Sins” Coming Out?
The song is expected to appear on Kid Rock’s upcoming album, Halfway 2 Jesus, which is scheduled for October 17th, 2026, according to published reports. As of October 9th, the full album and “7 Sins” have not yet been released, and no separate release date for the collaboration has been announced.

Kid Rock has already released the album’s lead single, “James 1:17 (Jesus Is King),” accompanied by an official music video. The upcoming record marks a new direction for the rocker, bringing Christian themes into a musical career that has covered everything from rap and hard rock to country.
The album is also expected to feature Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts and country singer Jimmie Allen on its title track. But the Eminem collaboration is arguably the most surprising name on the guest list, given the pair’s history and the political divide that has become part of their public identities.
Why Are Eminem and Kid Rock Working Together?
The interesting part of this story is not simply that two famous musicians are recording together. It is that they have maintained a friendship despite publicly disagreeing on politics. Kid Rock has become a prominent supporter of President Donald Trump, while Eminem has publicly supported Democratic candidates, including Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election. In an era when political disagreements can turn family gatherings into televised congressional hearings, the two apparently decided their friendship was worth keeping.
In an excerpt from the album’s foreword reported by Complex, Kid Rock described Eminem as an old friend and explained that his verse addresses how they have remained friends despite their disagreements. The message, according to Rock, is that people should not automatically abandon friends or family members simply because they hold different political beliefs. He said the two hoped their collaboration could set an example for people who have stopped speaking to loved ones over those differences.
That gives “7 Sins” a potentially bigger story than a celebrity collaboration. Whether listeners agree with either musician politically is beside the point: the song appears intended to address the divisions that have increasingly shaped American culture.
Eminem and Kid Rock Have a History
Despite the apparent surprise surrounding the announcement, these two are not strangers who just exchanged phone numbers in a recording studio. Eminem appeared on Kid Rock’s 1998 track “Fuck Off,” from the breakthrough album Devil Without a Cause. The record helped propel Kid Rock into mainstream stardom, while Eminem was on the verge of becoming one of the biggest names in hip-hop.
Their connection continued years later. Kid Rock made a cameo in Eminem’s 2013 “Berzerk” music video, and both artists have also been connected through Detroit rapper Trick Trick’s music. Their shared Michigan roots and longstanding ties to the Detroit music scene provide some context for a friendship that has survived their increasingly different public political positions. In October 2024, the two exchanged friendly messages on social media around their shared support for the Detroit Lions, demonstrating that their relationship had not simply disappeared because of politics.
What Can Fans Expect From “7 Sins”?
That is where a little patience is required. The collaboration has been confirmed, but the complete song has not been released as of October 9th, and the available reporting does not establish its precise sound, lyrical content or musical arrangement. The title suggests themes involving temptation, wrongdoing, morality or redemption, which would fit the religious direction of Halfway 2 Jesus. However, without hearing the track, it would be premature to claim exactly what Eminem raps about or how the two artists approach the subject.
The pairing also raises an obvious musical question. Will the song sound more like Eminem’s traditional hip hop, Kid Rock’s rap rock roots, or something built around the Christian themes of the new album? For now, that remains to be heard.
