Former NFL wide receiver Stedman Bailey was arrested in Pembroke Pines after police say he and a woman engaged in sexual activity in full view of customers inside an arcade, bar and bowling alley at Pembroke Lakes Mall. Bailey, who played three seasons for the then St. Louis Rams, and 35 year old Karina Manderson were taken into custody following the July 27, 2026 incident at Round1, according to reporting based on a Pembroke Pines Police Department arrest report. Police Say Sexual Activity Occurred at the Bar
According to the police account, officers were called to Round1 after witnesses reported seeing Bailey and Manderson allegedly engaging in sexual activity near the establishment’s bar. Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators reportedly showed Manderson leaning forward at the waist while Bailey stood behind her. Police wrote that both defendants appeared to be actively engaged in sexual activity while other customers were present at the bar.
A witness told officers that the pair were confronted and ordered to stop. Bailey allegedly pulled up his pants, and he and Manderson then left the bar area. The allegations are particularly notable because the reported conduct did not occur in a private residence or secluded outdoor location. Round1 operates as an entertainment venue inside Pembroke Lakes Mall, combining bowling, arcade games, food and alcohol in a space accessible to the public.
Bailey Admitted His Pants Were Down but Denied Penetration
When questioned by police, Bailey reportedly acknowledged that he and Manderson had their pants down and that his genitals were exposed, but he denied that penetration occurred. According to the police account cited in published reports, Bailey attributed the incident to the amount of alcohol the pair had consumed. Manderson reportedly told investigators that she had been drinking and could not remember what had occurred.
Police reportedly investigated whether either person’s drink may have been tampered with but found no indication supporting that explanation. Both Bailey and Manderson were ultimately arrested. Bailey’s NFL Career Was Cut Short by 2015 Shooting
Bailey, now 35, was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft after playing college football at West Virginia. During his three NFL seasons, Bailey appeared in 38 games, recording 59 receptions for 843 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His professional football career was effectively ended following a November 2015 shooting in Miami Gardens. Bailey was sitting in a vehicle when he was shot multiple times and critically wounded. He survived the attack but never returned to an NFL regular season game. Bailey also has longstanding ties to South Florida, having attended Miramar High School in Broward County before becoming a standout college receiver.
Case Now Moves Through Broward County Court System
The arrests turn what police describe as a bizarre episode inside one of Broward County’s busiest shopping and entertainment complexes into a criminal case. The Pembroke Pines Police Department maintains the records generated from arrests and investigations within the city, while cases presented for prosecution are processed through the Broward State Attorney’s Office and county court system.
