Jared Leto Denies Sexual Assault Allegations
Oscar-winning actor and musician Jared Leto is denying new allegations of sexual assault and sexual misconduct after multiple women accused him of inappropriate behavior in a newly released BBC documentary. Through his representatives, Leto said the accusations are “absolutely and categorically false” and maintained that he has “never sexually assaulted anyone” in his life. The allegations span more than a decade and involve claims made by several women who say they interacted with the actor between 2002 and 2016.
Documentary Details Allegations From Multiple Women
The BBC documentary features interviews with 10 women who accuse Leto of various forms of sexual misconduct. Four women allege criminal sexual conduct, while others describe claims of grooming, inappropriate sexual behavior, sexually explicit phone calls and other encounters. Some of the women allege they were teenagers when the incidents occurred, while Leto was in his 30s and 40s. According to the BBC, its investigation included interviews with witnesses and a review of text messages, photographs and other evidence that it said supported portions of the women’s accounts.
Leto Rejects Every Allegation
In a statement responding to the documentary, Leto denied all of the accusations. He said he has never sexually assaulted anyone and described the allegations as completely untrue. His representatives issued the statement after the documentary aired, reiterating that the actor rejects every claim made against him.
No Criminal Charges Filed
The latest allegations follow previous accusations published in 2025, when several women also accused Leto of inappropriate sexual behavior. He denied those claims as well. As of July 29, 2026, no criminal charges have been filed against Leto in connection with either the earlier allegations or those presented in the BBC documentary.
